It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Bernadette Marie McGraw, affectionately known to those closest to her as Netta. She passed away peacefully on September 6 2024, at Southlake Regional Health Centre, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 17, 1950, in Sydney Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Netta was a bright light who brought warmth and joy to everyone she encountered.
For 37 remarkable years, Netta dedicated her talents and hard work to Acklands Grainger, where her presence and smile were cherished by colleagues and customers alike. Her friendly demeanor and infectious laughter made the workplace a better environment. .
Described as someone who was always smiling, Netta had a contagious spirit that filled the room with joy. She loved to sing alongside her husband Doug, creating beautiful memories and harmonies together that resonated deeply within their family. Her penchant for arriving fashionably late only seemed to endear her further to those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Doug; her children, Lorena, Mike, and Brad; and her grandchildren Aydin, Raven, River, and Violet. She leaves behind a caring family which includes her siblings Sally, Billy, Barry, and Anita, along with many nieces and nephews who were fortunate to know her love and guidance. And of course, we can't forget to mention her furbaby Milo.
While Netta’s journey through life began in Cape Breton, it was within her family that she left her most profound impact. Though she is preceded in death by her parents, Rita and Bill, the legacy of her kindness, laughter, and love will forever linger in the hearts of those she has touched.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Bernadette Marie McGraw, we will remember her as a beacon of positivity, a devoted family member, and a friend to all. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our memories, reminding us to embrace life with the same friendliness, joy, and love that she exemplified every day.
