Beverley Tanquiy

May 17, 1918 — October 8, 2008

Peacefully, at Simcoe Manor, Beeton, on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, in her 91st year. Pre-deceased by her husband, the late Edward Tanquiy. Dearly loved mother of Nick (Janice), Jack (Yvonne), Lynn Routledge (Hedley), Anne Morgan (Doug), and Jane Greenman. Lovingly remembered by her 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Beverley attended public and secondary school in Sutton. She reared her children through the difficult times from the second World War to the 1960's, and then returned to school, graduating from Teacher's College along with several high school classmates of her children. She took up her career as a public school teacher for the York Region School Board. Beverley made a dedicated contribution to all her students, providing many unpaid hours of extra help after regular class hours to any student who needed extra help. Her teaching career was cut short by her first courageous battle with cancer. Beverley lovingly enjoyed her family, in spite of suffering many years of declining health. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Simcoe Manor for the care provided during the last 3 months. Private family service. Cremation. Interment Briar Hill Cemetery, Sutton. Memorial donations to Simcoe Manor or Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, Sutton.
