Rumsam, Clifford "Corky"
Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of the late Helen "Dolly" Rumsam. Loving father of 7 children. Loving grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather of many. Brother of Jack(Pat) and Gail(Uwe) and predeceased by Dolly, Betty, Marg. Fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends including the Ontario Bowlers Association of which he was inducted to the Bowling Hall of Fame in 2004, personal catering business (Helen & Cliff Caterers), Grand & Toy Head Office, Toronto Transit Commission Head Office and Ontario Hydro Head Office. The family would like to thank the staff at River Glen Haven Nursing Home for helping of the arrangements for mom and dad to be together in the same room, At River Glen he had all the comforts of life, he had social activities, bingo, music, dancing, painting, even bowling. And they purchased a set of bowling pins for him to show off his skills. He had exercise every day, three tasty meals and two snacks; chocolate pudding to help make the medicine go down. They loved his personality, everyone knew “Corky”. He was finally safe; he had friends in the front room to have coffee with. It took him awhile, but he eventually liked the side garden, a little sunshine on comfy chairs. He walked miles in the halls and he had wonderful lunch outings. We would like to thank all the extended family at River Glen and the Personal Support Workers for making his two-and-half years there feel like it was his home. Their dedication to making dad comfortable and happy did not go unnoticed. Thanks to Southlake Hospital and CCAC for their continued support and care. Betty is especially thankful for the love and support of her husband Kim, her sister Kathy, and her brother Doug, “the only child”. Dad’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 2p.m. at Kingsview United Church, 505 Adelaide Ave E, Oshawa, ON, cross streets Wilson and Adelaide. Arrangements in care of the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home. Memorial condolences may be made at www.forrestandtaylor.com
