Doreen Stephens

After a six year battle with cancer, Doreen passed peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care, on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Doreen Stephens (nee Hicks) beloved wife of Joe Stephens of Sutton. Dear mother of James (Jean) of Port Bolster, Gordon (Kelly) of Sutton, Roger (Lynn) of Port Elgin, and Rusty (Alexis) of Egypt. Predeceased by her daughter Denise. Mother in law of Terry St. Peter of Beaverton. Lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Dear sister of Joy of England and predeceased by her sister Jean. Doreen was Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the RCL Branch 356, Sutton. She volunteered at the Red Barn Theater and was co-founder of the South Shore Little Theater. She was a lover of Lake Simcoe and fishing. Resting at the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton, from 7-9 pm Thursday. Funeral Service in the chapel Friday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, Cancer Clinic would be appreciated by the family.
