Gordon Francis Brady was born in January of 1927. He spent most of his life in the Jackson's Point/Sutton area till he retired to Chesley Ont. at 90 years of age. He lived a fulfilling life and passed away on March 22, 2025, in Walkerton, Ontario.
Gordon was a well-known third generation Brady in the Sutton area. In his early days he worked at the Jackson's Point Hardware Store. In the 1950's he, along with his father Norman and sister Hazel, built and operated a gas station on Baseline Road (now Woodbine) and 6th Concession (now Kennedy Road). Ultimately he followed in his father's footsteps and worked as a self- employed house painting contractor most of his life. Gordon enjoyed many hobbies including golf, art and gardening. His paintings have been displayed in several public buildings and, in summer, his house was always one of the most beautiful along the street with bright colored flowers and thoughtful designs.
Gordon is survived by his sons, Peter (Ginette), Paul (Kim), and David (Janice). He was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and had the joy of being a great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June.
Burial of the urn will take place at Briar Hill Cemetery in Georgina, Ontario on April 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
