Gordon Walter Fenwick
December 21 1939 – September 20 2024
Gordon Walter Fenwick passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Friday, September 20th, 2024.
Gordon was the loving husband to Helen; Father to Lisa (Dave), and Lucille (predeceased); Grandfather (Papa) to Alec, Jacob, and Abbigale; Brother to Barbra (predeceased) (Ian predeceased).
Gordon grew up in Leaside with his parents and sister. He married the biggest part of his life Helen, and they were happily together for 59 years. He became a teacher and taught math at Monarch Park high school for 35 years. Gordon was an adventurer. He loved to go wilderness camping and canoeing. He was one of the founding members of the Wilderness Canoe Association; and went on many portaging trips in the rugged and remote areas of the Canadian wilderness.
In later years when his second daughter Lucille was born, he studied French becoming bilingual, giving her the opportunity to go to a French school. He enjoyed many trips to Algonquin with his grandchildren, biking and canoeing. In later years he took trips to Cuba with Helen, they enjoyed music and dance. He was so special to us, and he will be greatly missed.
