After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Gord passed away peacefully under the care of his son and daughter-in-law at their home on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the age of 57 years. Loving father of Dwayne and his wife Jennifer of Pefferlaw and proud grampa of Samantha. Beloved son of Hank and the late Antonia Heyink of Sutton. Dear brother of Hank Heyink (Pam), the late Jennifer Driver, Karel Heyink (John), Linda Theriault (Andre), Lorraine Alcombrack (David), Ken Heyink (Karen), Johanna Card (the late Robert), and Michael Heyink (Bev). Fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends. An avid fisherman, Gord spent every winter on Lake Simcoe. His loss is heavy in our hearts and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him. A Memorial Visitation will be held in the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton, from 7 – 9 p.m. Thursday, November 6th.
