Howard Lake

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, in his 98th year at Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo, ON. Devoted husband of over 76 years to Viva Florence Lake (nee Cryderman). Beloved father of Mary Jane Lennox (Duncan) and Donald Howard Lake (predeceased 1971). Cherished grandfather of James Howard Lake, Timothy Hugh Lake, Tiffany Jane Lennox and Kelly Elizabeth Lennox (Rob MacDonald). Proud Poppa of Sarah, Logan, Callum, Lawson and Audrey. Howard was the last surviving member of his family, predeceased by his parents Wilmot and Martha Lake and his siblings Blanche Sellers, George and Gerald Lake who all grew up on the family farm at RR2 Pefferlaw, ON (Egypt). Howard and Viva worked the family farm for 20 years. He then worked as an inspector for the Department of Highways and retired after 24 years of service. After retiring Howard and Viva moved to Elmira, ON to be closer to Mary Jane and family, spending winters in Florida. A special thank you to the staff of Parkwood Mennonite Home for the loving care and attention. A memorial service will take place at Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton West ON, on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. There will be visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Memorial Donations to Parkwood Mennonite Home would be appreciated by the family.
