Peterson, Irena (nee Artuchova) 1937-2014

Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Friday, September 12, 2014, with her family by her side, after a long illness. Irena Peterson, much loved and much missed, by her husband and beloved soul mate Stephen, her much-loved sons Michael (Vera), Alexander (Catherine) and Eros (Christine), and precious grandchildren Greg, Tikhon, Andrei, Katherine, Grace and Jacob. She leaves behind her dear sisters Maria, Magdalena, Margarita and Alexandra, her dear Godson and nephew Walter, along with many cherished nephews, nieces, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Resting at the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday and in Our Lady of Smolensk Russian Orthodox Church, 5 Birch Road, Jackson’s Point, from 5:00 p.m. Sunday until time of the Funeral service on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Briar Hill Cemetery, Sutton. Memorial donations to Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Monastery in Jordanville, N.Y. or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
