Judy was born in Markham ON in 1946 to Noel and Frances Lawrence. She will be remembered by husband John, children Richard (Erika) and Karyn (Brady), grandson Michael, brother Jack, nephews Tim, Todd and Andy and their families.
A graduate of York University (Glendon College) in 1968, Judy enjoyed a career as a high school teacher at Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Stouffville, Uxbridge and Port Perry High Schools where she taught English and helped produce many cherished high school yearbooks.
Judy was an avid reader – devouring books and sharing her passion for literature with her students. She enjoyed spending summers at the family cottage with her beloved Springer Spaniels. Judy was a longtime volunteer and supporter in her community, believing it was important to pay her good fortune forward.
Charitable donations in her memory may be made to Community Living Georgina, Southlake Regional Health Centre or the Alzheimer’s Society of York Region.
The Bennett family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at River Glen Haven nursing home in Sutton.
