After a battle with cancer, Paul passed away while in hospital on February 11. 2025 at the age of 74. He is deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Anne (nee Benson), his daughter Allison, her husband Remy, his grandson Eli and his granddaughter Evelyn.   Paul was predeceased by his parents Ronald and Ruth (nee Sooley) and he predeceases his brothers John (Eileen), Robert (Wendy), Ben (Sharon) and Phillip and his sisters Elizabeth (David) and Janice.  Throughout his life Paul's interests in music, ham radio, the outdoors, motorcycles and computing engaged and sustained him. He used his radio skills to assist police services during Y2K along with pursuing disaster relief training with the Salvation Army. He often sought opportunities for camping, canoeing and sailing. He used his prized Harley Davidson to ride throughout Ontario with the York Region Harley Owners Association. With a Computer Programming Analyst Diploma earned as a young man he used his computer skills in business andhis private life. As an accomplished acoustic, electric and most often lately a bass guitarist from his teenage years to the present, music was one of his most frequent pursuits. When Patty McLaughlin founded the Aurora Song Circle he joined with her to provide enduring support over more than 20 years in using his instrumental and performance skill and his ability to consistently provide sound equipment access to maintain the needs of its members.  Thank-you to the expert team of doctors at the Stronach Cancer Care Centre in Newmarket who carried out his diagnosis and treatment plan. Special heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Mulhern for her compassionate and skilled palliative care management throughout. Cremation has taken place.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Stronach Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
