At River Glen Haven Nursing Home, Sutton, on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the age of 93 years. Phyllis Clarke (nee Gardiner), formerly of Scarborough, beloved wife of the late Ted Clarke. Dear mother of Gerry Clarke and his wife Gayle of Sutton and Barb Scott and her husband Dick of Kitchener. Loving grandmother of Sheri (Wayne), Teri (John), Nicole (Daniel), Kirk (Jodi) and Ed (Michelle) and great grandmother of Matthew, Christopher, Colby, Shannen, Trent, Devon, Jordan, Brandon, Austin, Emma, Dakota & Dustin. Predeceased by brothers, George & Edward. Phyllis was one of the original "Bomb Girls" at the GECO Munitions Plant, Scarborough. Following the war, she worked in the garment industry as a seamstress, leading to establishing her own successful seamstress business. A Celebration of Life will be held in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 20858 Dalton Road, Sutton, Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Visitation in the church from 10:30 a.m. Spring interment of cremated remains, St. James Cemetery, Toronto. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
