Peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Centre, (Veterans), Toronto on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the age of 89 years. Tom Burnie formerly of Virginia, ON and Newmarket, predeceased by his wife Anna Burnie (nee Parliament) and his companion Louise Warner (nee Pratt). Loving father of Joan and her husband Alan Porter, Sandra and her husband Pierre Bissonnette, Marlene Reynolds and Glenna Woods. Dear grandfather of Rene and his fiance Jennifer Medland, Alyssa and Laura. Dear brother of Theresa Anderson and brother in law of Bruce Anderson and Annie Burnie. Predeceased by his brother Charles Burnie and his sisters Winnifred Comer and Margaret Carlisle. Lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. Resting at the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Veterans Service in the chapel Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service in the chapel, Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Interment of cremated remains in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Virginia. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
