Peacefully at Bancroft Hospital on Saturday January 24, 2009 at the age of 79 years. Walt Chapelle of Cardiff, formerly of Brown Hill, predeceased by his companion Dorothea (Thea) Schuhmann. Dear father of Ella Mae Schmidt and her husband Dieter of Waterloo and Wayne Chapelle and his companion Tanya Koldenhof of Keswick. Loving Grandfather of Holly and Rose Schmidt and Shawn and Hannah Chapelle. Survived by his brother Allan Chapelle of South River and his sister Marion McCreary of Burlington. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Funeral Service in the chapel Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Spring interment of cremated remains, Baldwin Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Sandgate Women's Shelter, Jackson's Point, would be appreciated by the family.
