Methot, Yves Arthur Father (Missionaries of Africa White Fathers)
Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Center, Newmarket on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the age of 85 years. Fr. Yves is survived by his brothers Bertrand Methot and Paul Methot (Gabrielle) and sister Lucienne Daniel and brother in law John Knopp and twenty three nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Germaine Methot (nee Tardif). He is also predeceased by his sister Yolande, brother Jean Methot, brother in law Dr. Robert Daniel and sister in law Arlene Methot. Father Yves was ordained as a White Father in Gelashield, Scotland , on May 31, 1952. He was placed on an island in Lake Victoria, Tanzania, Africa and returned to Canada in 1980. Father Yves assisted in many parishes including Thornhill and Edmonton until settling in the parishes of The Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of the Lake in Sutton and Keswick in 2001. Resting in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 20916 Dalton Road, Sutton, Tuesday, May 11th 2010, from 5:00 -9:00 p.m. Liturgy of the word in the church at 8:30 p.m. He will rest in Our Lady of the Lake 129 Metro Road, North, Keswick from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 12th 2010. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Lake, Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. . Cremation to follow with interment of cremated remains in Sherbrooke Quebec, on June 25, 2010.
