Obituary of William Andrew John Elliot

Elliot, William Andrew John

Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Bill Elliot, of Sutton, formerly of Campbellville, beloved husband and best friend of Sandra Marshall-Elliot for ten years. Predeceased by his first wife of 49 years, Marianne (nee Greenless) and his parents Robert and Molly. Father of Katherine Burton (Chris) of Omemee and Mark Elliot of Montreal. Stepfather of Kevin Marshall (Pla) of Thailand and Sean Marshall (Laurie) of Wellesley, Mass. Grandfather of Megan, Matthew, Troy, Alana, Michelle, William and Robert. Affectionately known as Freddy to his friends. Retired from Dofasco after 34 years and served on the Milton Fire Department for 12 years, retiring as District Chief. He will be remembered for his community involvement as well as being part of The Village Nine the provincial champion Baseball Team from Campbellville (1952-1967) who were inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. He will be sadly missed as always bringing a smile to your face, challenging your knowledge, his keen wit and sense of humour or showing what a humble, kind, loving and gentle giant of a man he truly was. The family thanks the doctors and staff of the NR Unit at Southlake for their care compassion and support. It was greatly appreciated! A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held in the chapel of the Forrest and Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. with visitation from 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations to Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
